Introducing Pātaka Kai Hauraki Social Supermarket, a beacon of hope and resilience, born from vision of Te Whāriki Manawāhine O Hauraki in partnership with Foodstuffs NZ. Our doors opened on the 18th of December 2023, it’s not just a supermarket but a community hub, providing essential goods with dignity, fostering empowerment, and nurturing the spirit of Hauraki. Welcome to a place where every purchase fuels support for those in need, creating a ripple of positive change throughout the rohe.
Through our efforts with our Pātaka Kai store in Paeroa we recognised an opportunity to expand with the help of Foodstuffs and their Social Supermarket initiative to create a Social Supermarket for our Hauraki Whānau whereby they pay a small fee and can shop just like they are in the Supermarket by using a point system.
